Elegant, modern, unique photography for ordinary people. Seattle and Vancouver Washington.

Last Saturday, studio lights met with Christmas lights for a complimentary photo/video shoot put on by Focus Designs, Valeo Visual, and David Martschinske Photography to give our community something different this year.  It was awesome to see the studio packed with people listening to Christmas music, riding SBU’s, enjoying plenty of holiday snacks, and yes, even samples of SPARK from Cindy Wood.  The idea was to give people something different, awesome, and FREE while exposing everyone to what we do.  In the time that I have been working as a photographer I’ve found that the best advertising has come from the people that know me well and talk about my work to others and I’m excited to see new clients emerge from Saturday’s festivities.

Along with my previous photoshoot, I had the priveledge of shooting Christmas photos for Grace Foursquare Church in Camas, Washington.  The coolest thing about this shoot is that they even had a well-known National artist, Elida Field paint a mural on a wall.  When they asked me what I wanted on the wall, this is what I gave them to give to Elida:

…I’m really glad she just used this as a starting point because what she came up with was 300% better than what I gave her.  Below is only a few of my favorite photos.  These photos are available for download below.  You can download each file to have it printed somewhere OR you can order on the website if it is more convenient for you.

One of my favorite spots for doing family photos is along Officer’s row for a number of reasons. The first reason I like this spot is because there are usually no people there. This is basically a large grassy area with nobody in it (my ideal place for some family pictures because people are more comfortable without having a lot of people staring at them – pictures are already awkward enough for many people). The second reason I like this one is because it is basically 3 minutes from my studio. It makes the commute really easy.

Hello everyone, I’d like to introduce you to the Ryan, Shyla, and Ezra Hughes.  Oh wait… you guys already know them from, well, actually a lot of my previous shoots.  Shyla asked me a while ago to get pictures for her husband, Ryan who was oversees at the time.  She loved them so much, as well as they way I worked at both Casey and Darlene’s and Spencer and Talitha’s wedding (which they were both a part of) that they wanted me for more photos.  I’ve seen these three characters a lot through my camera and let me tell you, it doesn’t get old.  They were so fun and easy to work with and their photos really reflected that.  Have a look:

I met Steve Cross by taking a photo of him at the Camas Baccalaureate service.  We decided to finally meet each other after becoming Twitter friends and do some family photos.  Steve, Audra, and Dylon (My Favorite name. seriously!) showed up and the festivities began.  This was not my first time taking pictures with a younger child  (Here).  Steve and Audra kept joking with me saying, “You will never want to take pictures of babies again after you are done shooting Dylon!”  On the contrary Steve and Audra. I rather enjoyed playing with a squeeky toy, holding the reflector, AND taking a picture.  I always love a challenge.  Why don’t you take a gander and this happy young family!

There is just something fascinating about the 329 faces a child can make in an hour.

What’s that? You can’t get enough of Steve Cross? Listen to the thumpin’ bass in Rescue! I listen to them while editing. Great music to edit photos to for sure!
